Working on getting Chaotic Flux into comic book shops.

5-4-19

Scott Payne

Also on my list is getting the book into shops.

I am going to try an get the book out as far and wide as I can. However, since I do live in the Houston and Galveston Texas area, I will, of course, be starting there.

So wish me luck and maybe eventually Chaotic Flux will be sold in your home town. ;)

Gearing up for con appearances.

5-4-19

Scott Payne

Big announcement! My first comic con appearance will be at the Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, on June14-16! I will be there for all 3 days, promoting Chaotic Flux, selling the book on issue 1, and signing autographs. I will also have unique con exclusive art prints for sale. More on that soon.

Some highlights of this convention are that the cast of Aquaman will be there, plus Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Bettany (Vision), and Benedict Wong (Wong). And so much more. I am so super excited to be attending this con.

I am also lining up some other con appearances for the year. More on that later as well.

So if any of you are going to be at this awesome con, I hope that you will come by and say hi. I can't wait to see you all. https://pmxevents.com/

Moving on to the next phase.

Scott Payne

Wow. So much progression has happened of late. Which has pushed me back on keeping this site up to date. But I am going to work harder at that, as I really want this to be a primary source for Chaotic Flux news.

Speaking of which, the IndieGoGo campaign had ended not too long ago. Earning $4,501 out of $6,000. So not hitting the goal, but it still feels wonderful to of earned the much. THANK YOU to EVERYONE who still helped to make it, in my eyes, a pretty good success. Everyone who did contribute to the campaign should now have their special rewards.

Chaotic Flux #1 is now in print and NOW be available to the public. This is the standard edition of the book, autographed edition, and as well as the digital PDF edition.

For the physical copies, there are 2 forms of shipping.

GROUND, which the book(s) are shipped first class, come pro bagged and boarded, and placed in a mailer.

Then there's a STANDARD shipping option. Standard is the same as Ground shipped, but shipped between 2 cardboard sheets for added protection.

All sales of the book go towards the funding and creation of Chaotic Flux #2.

Thank you all for your support.

Check out Frontera: Flash of Dawn.

A.J. Kinkade, the creator, and writer of this book, and I have recently hit it off and think think this awesomely creative book of his is totally worth checking out.

As A.J. describes it, "Kill Bill meets Fifth Element! A
Far-flung, Roundhouse kicking, Blaster blazing, fist pumping, Headbanging, Space bending Fantasy set just West of Forever!"

I think it clearly also has a strong Blade Runner and 80's rock look to it. It just looks like such a fun and kick ass story. I hope many of you agree.

Flash of Dawn is the first Codex of the Frontera Universe and has been rendered to reality by the Frontera team of A.J. Kinkade (creator/writer), Myk Emmshin (interior and variant cover pencils), Carlos Comez (cover pencils), Everardo Orozco (colors), Erek Foster (letters), Jon Zamar (logos), and Laurie Foster (editor). A new world of blasters, guitars, and flaming swords is now on the horizon in the Flash of Dawn!

There will be a new Kickstarter campaign launching for it on February 19th. So be sure to check it out. Looks like he's going to have some great rewards available.

Go to the official Frontera Facebook page to keep up on all things Frontera and have an awesome day everyone!

I want to thank James Ross for doing it for me. I also want to thank Rob Andersin, the mega-mind behind Indie Advocates.

Indie Advocates does a lot for indie comics and indie creators, and I'm so glad that Rob created it.

Also, thank you so very much to the fans that continue to support Sharp Edge Comics and Chaotic Flux. You are the fuel that keeps this fire burning.

Getting to know the co-creator & writer of Chaotic Flux.

Hello. For those of you who don't know, my name is Scott Payne. I've decided I should open up more and let you all into my world more. In the form of a kind of profile. I hope that you enjoy it.

Full name: David Scott Payne

Age: 39

Happily Married to Janelle Murphy

Lives in: Galveston, Texas

Grew up: In Duncanville and the Dallas Texas area

Pets: 2 cats and a dog

Favorite food: Steak

Hobbies include making/reading comic books, going to cons and comic shops, watching movies, playing video games, retro gaming, drinking beer and wine, listening to music, watching YouTube, building Gundam models, watching anime, watching TV, mostly Netflix, playing board games, camping, and hiking.

Some of my most favorite comic books are:

Batman. Most notably The Dark Knight Returns, HUSH, Year One, The Long Halloween, and The Killing Joke.

X-Men. Most notably The Age of Apocalypse storyline.

Battle Chasers.

Wolverine. Most notably Old Man Logan, Enemy of the State, and Weapon X.

Sin City: The Hard Goodbye.

WATCHMEN.

300.

Guardians of the Galaxy.

Spawn.

Deadpool.

My most favorite writers are Frank Miller, Mark Millar, Alan Moore, and Stan Lee.

My most favorite artists are Greg Capullo, Jim Lee, Joe Madureira, Brian Balondo, and Steve McNiven.

I love science fiction movies. Especially ones that make you think. Which is why I think Inception is my most favorite. But I also love horror, action, and fantasy movies. My wife and I both love the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies.

I am also a big fan of Star Wars, The Matrix, the Nolan Batman movies, and all of the Marvel movies.

Some of my favorite anime are, Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Princess Mononoke, Evangelion, and Hellsing.

I am also a huge fan of Game of Thrones, Agents of Shield, the CW DC shows, Stranger Things, The Last Kingdom, and Rick & Morty.

With video games, I tend to gravitate towards heavy story driven games, survival horror, action, and RPGs. I love the Resident Evil series, The Witcher 3, the God of War series, Metal Gear Solid, Guild Wars 2, the Final Fantasy series, the Divinity series, and The Last of Us, just to name a few.

So since this is getting pretty long, I'll end it with music. I listen to all kinds of music, but my most favorite kind is hard rock and metal. My most favorite group, even though they take insanely long times to make new albums, is TOOL. Just like movies, I really enjoy music that makes me think and TOOL takes the cake.

Other groups I love are Rage Against the Machine, Deftones, Slipknot, System of A Down, Volbeat, Metallica, Avatar, Breaking Benjamin, and many more.

I am currently trying to come up with ways to incorporate music into Chaotic Flux.

I also very much enjoy spending time with my wife and friends. My wife and I go to a wine club together every month. We also watch a lot of movie and TV together, as well as play video games together.

Then we like to go see movies with friends, go out to bars, and often have board game nights, where we invite friends over and play.

I am also a HUGE animal lover. Especially cats and dogs.

Okay, I am going to end it here. I really hope you've enjoyed reading about me and I will be revealing more about myself as time goes on.

One last thing though. I want you to know that I am always open to talk. Be it comic books, movies, Chaotic Flux, or whatever. You can always DM me here, at the lower right of the page, on Facebook messenger, or through email at SharpEdgeComics2018@gmail.com.

All right, well, talk to you later everyone. Have an awesome day!

10x11 metallic art print. This print will feature different art than the non-metallic print

(campaign exclusive).
